Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English lingerie and catwalk models and a TV personality. In 2006, she finished second in the British Next Top Model cycle 2. She also won the series 11 and 12 of Strictly Come Dancing 2013. Since 2015, she is Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy, the fourth child of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy and Geoff Thomas Clancy, was born in Liverpool. She grew up in Woolton, an area in Liverpool and was a student at St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy founded the girl band Genie Queen with Andy McCluskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. In summer 2006, the second season of the Living TV show Britain's Next Top Model included Clancy as one of the 13 finalists in the competition which lasted for 10 weeks to win a modeling contract. Clancy was paired with Lianna Fowler for the finale runway show, and was the runner-up. Clancy was the first model to be featured on Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike for Arena magazine's cover in May 2007, was photographed by Clancy. Clancy was selected to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was highlighted for her athletic background and was photographed wearing only body paint for the magazine. Yu Tsai captured the photo. Clancy was featured as a model in Umbro sportswear's 2010 campaign. Clancy was a model for the Giles Deacon Ready-To Wear Giles Spring 2011 collection. In July 2013, Clancy was a model in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign featured an editorial styled by Absynth and a fashion documentary directed by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also photographed for the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. In December 2013 Clancy was included in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar alongside Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy was featured on the cover of British Marie Claire, July 2014, and British Elle, March 2015. Abbey Clancy was joined by her daughter Sophia Crouch and Lipsy, a London-based fashion designer, for the launch their AW'19 collections. The AW19 collection began to be launched in the UAE in January 2020.
