American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born November 8, 1967. Thorne-Smith was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father. Lora Thorne was her mother, and she was a therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents at different times. She has an older sister named Jennifer who works as an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School, situated in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in the year 1985. She also performed for the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley during her time in high school. Thorne Smith's first appearance in a movie was in the 1986 movie drama Lucas.
